Position: Housing Program Specialist

Primary Purpose:

Under general direction, provide technical oversight and assist in the coordination of the day-to-day activities of the housing staff. Assist in the implementation of program goals and objectives. Ensure that all housing quality control standards are maintained as required by HUD and the Bernalillo County Housing Department.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, plus two (2) years of housing-related program experience; OR any related combination of education from an accredited college or university or related experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience and may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Position: Accounting Manager for the Finance Department

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Finance the  Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting.  This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.  The Accounting Manager acts as a lead for staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.  This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, monthly closings, financial reporting, yearend audit preparation and the support of budget, forecast activities and assists with the review of operating results. The Accounting Manager oversees and ensures accuracy of payroll, receivables, payables, and management reports.

Northern Regional Housing Authority

Position: Executive Director

The Northern Regional Housing Authority (NRHA) of New Mexico, located in Taos, NM  is seeking an experienced Executive Director to administer federal, state and local housing programs in 10 counties in northern New Mexico; Cibola, Taos, McKinley, Rio Arriba, San Juan, San Miguel, Mora, Los Alamos, Colfax and Sandoval.  The Executive Director duties also include the administration and regulatory compliance of approximately 546 Housing Choice Vouchers, 204 Public Housing units, 8 VASH vouchers and 8 state Linkages vouchers. The Executive Director is responsible for administering all agency policies and procedures, asset/property management, budget and finance operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration, or other related field and 5 to 10 years’ experience required.  Master’s degree and affordable housing experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong leadership skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills and working knowledge of federal, state, and local housing programs.
